This year has seen the worst drought conditions in this area since 1988.  It seems to be dry everywhere.  Instances of rain has been few and far between, and believe me, once it comes, it will be welcome.  For a moment, contrast these physical drought conditions with spiritual drought conditions.  In the society we live in, there are many among us who are facing a spiritual drought.  In these conditions, God is providing rain.  He's doing that in the form of His people.  Jesus said in John 7:38 - "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.' "  We have a chance to be the living water the world needs in the dryness of their lives.  So our call to action is, as believers, to minister to those whose spirits are dry without Christ, and introduce them to the One who is the Water of Life, which they can receive freely.  Invite them to worship, or else bless them with the gift of a DVD or CD from morning worship.  Plant a seed, and watch how God can grow it, even when no 'rain' is falling.
